Find Top Toys For Christmas Shopping

Every year, my husband and I scrabble to find toys for Christmas. Now that all of our children are school aged, it’s easier then previous years. They have a great vocabulary and can express what they like and why. Before, we would just assume that our children might find a certain toy enjoyable, then purchase educational toys to satisfy our conscious. It was always disappointing to see how long each Christmas gift would actually catch their attention

I think that we’ve tried every method. One year I had my three children sit down and create a Christmas toy list collage. I provided them with toy circulars, and they cut and pasted the pictures on a large poster board. Although very fun, after the paint dried, and they were fast asleep, my husband and I calculated the prices and where taken back at how expensive the items where that they had picked out.

Another year we tried having them pick out one expensive toy each, then surprise them with other smaller priced gifts as fillers. This was nice but, we quickly noticed how uninterested they were in the the toys that were not appealing to them. Once again we lost money and was left scared from humiliation. It was just a few weeks later that those same toys were missing pieces and broken… what a waste of money!

This year I was determined to ask other parents for advice. I found out that we were not alone when it came to Christmas shopping. Many of the parents thought that it was just something that could not be avoided. Being the strong minded person and parent that I am, I kept asking around until I found an answer I could live with. A parent suggested that I search online for a few top toys being sold at various sites such as Amazon, Walmart, and Target. I used amazon, since they have a bestseller’s list. I scrolled down and was able to read the reviews on the various toys in order to make an educated choice when buying this holiday season. Below is a link to a site where nothing but top toys are discussed, reviewed, and recommended. Good luck shopping for your kids Christmas toys this holiday season!
